Angie was born in Hong Kong. She became a Canadian citizen at age 2 and is a proud Canadian. She grew up in Canada, her native language is English, and she graduated from The University of Calgary with a business degree. She can also speak a perfect Cantonese English accent (innately learned from her parents). She identifies as LGBTQ+ (pronouns are she\/her). She recently returned to acting after a 15 year break, a break where she enriched her life by dancing\/performing on stage, and traveling around the world experiencing different countries\/cultures. She is an experienced Toastmaster & public speaker, winning senior level competitions. She loves public speaking if the message is positive, educational, and funny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Angie says about acting: “It’s one of the hardest jobs. Acting isn’t about pretending; it’s about being real and becoming the character using your own process that works best for you. It’s not glamorous, and never perfect. I’m excited and more importantly, I’m scared. This shows how serious and passionate I am. I’m starting at the very beginning again. I’m female, Asian (Chinese), and LGBTQ+ (pronouns are she\/her). Yes, I’d rather admit outright because I don’t have anything and thus, I have nothing to lose. I’d rather not worry about hiding. More importantly, I don’t want to do any disservice to the LGBTQ+ community by perpetuating any type of “hidden shame”. The more I’m freely myself, the more I can freely explore the characters I play.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
